Metabolism is the flux of nutrients and energy within a cell. A body's health is a function of its cells' metabolisms.
Ecology is the flux of energy and living things. An ecosystem's health is a function of the diversity of its communities.
Economy is the flux of people, money, and ideas. The health of a society is a function of the diversity of its communities and the vitality of the individuals within. A symphony of fractals.

Soapbox Project
Volunteer Coordinator · Seattle · Mar 2024 to present · soapboxproject.org

Soapbox Project was founded by my friend Nivi Achanta while in recovery from being hit by a car, out of her desire to do something more meaningful than her job as a consultant.

Soapbox Project is distinguished by our goal to address both the climate crisis and loneliness epidemic as interconnected phenomena. In Nivi's words, Soapbox Project is a positive and joyful alternative to other groups rooted in fear and anger.

I began volunteering with Soapbox Project after meeting Nivi at a Climate Designers workshop and hearing her vision to create a community space somewhere in between a cafe and a library for people to meet, bond, and coordinate climate action.

The Reaction · social chemistry
Thursday
Seattle & Boston Host · Sep 2024 to July 2026

Social interactions follow the same laws as chemical reactions. This is why we call an intense connection "chemistry." A crowd is a fluid; a party of 50 in a small apartment is far more lively than 500 in a stadium built for 50,000.

Thursday Dating is a company founded in London, UK. Thursday's business model is based around hosting events, usually on a Thursday night, for people to meet each other face to face as an alternative to dating apps.

I launched Thursday's brand in Seattle in October 2024 and did the same in Boston the next year. Through hosting events for thousands of guests at dozens of venues I've learned an immense amount about how people interact with each other and their environment. Every night is its own social laboratory with connection as the reaction.

Key accomplishments
  • $111,839 in revenue, 7,000+ guests, 76 events, 35+ unique venues.
  • 3,000+ followers and 500k+ views on social media.
  • Produced the first Thursday Sounds concert with local musician JUL!ET (Juliet Daniel).
  • Pioneered the SoFar Sounds x Thursday collaboration, 12+ events.
Society has a Pulse.

When people gather in the right place there's energy in the air.
Connections form like sparks across the crowd.

That rhythm you feel is the Pulse.

The Key vital sign of a society aligned.
